Through reinterpretation and transformation, it confronts rigid binary, religious, and patriarchal structures, drawing from a legend of a shape-shifting stone and a place called 'Paradise,' where surface beauty masks deeper tensions.

Erli Grünzweil is a Vienna-based artist whose practice oscillates between staged and documentary photography. They create magic-realist worlds that address social, political, and personal issues. Grünzweil combines different visual styles, new and archival photographs in order to find new perspectives and narratives. Writing is an important part of their process- and research-based practice. After graduating in graphic design from the College of Graphic Design in Linz, Erli worked as a graphic designer for various magazines before studying Applied Photography and Time-based Media at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. Their work has been published and featured in numerous international print and online publications.
